“Secure the Bag” Program

Fostering Hope RVA has rolled out a new referral based program called, “Secure the Bag”, to help foster youth alumni ages 18-25 that have shown and proved that they are truly ready for independence.
Our vision for this program is to work alongside of IL organizations, private foster care agencies, DSS, and local non- profit organizations to ensure these youth are set up for success, understand financial responsibility, and practice self care & wellness as it relates to independence and life.

How it Works.
Upon acceptance, program participants will complete the following steps:
Step #1-
Rent Analysis.
We will provide you with a complimentary rent analysis to help you determine an apartment that would be the best fit for you. Once completed you can begin your rent search.
Step #2 - Application process. This is the start of the exciting part! Once you have found an apartment and your application has been approved we can begin the program.
Step #3 - “Secure your Bag.” Complete the STB request form along with a copy of your application approval and receipt. if approved, we will reimburse your application fee, pay your “secure-ity” deposit, and deliver your Welcome Bag packed with move in essentials to help you get nestled in your new “crib” on move in day.
